Proximity Lab is a Verbatim Theatre research-creation project supported by The Canada Council for the Arts.

Originally developed during the Covid-19 pandemic, Proximity Lab trains artist-researchers in Project: Humanity’s celebrated ethos of Verbatim Theatre creation, supporting the future ethical practice of this form.

Simultaneously, the artist-researchers we foster, bring new points of view, experiences, and voices into our own theatre development awareness and practice creating a key symbiosis in our artistic and community engagement.

Proximity Lab is currently in it’s second cohort, and will develop a new set of études to share with our community in 2026.
